recently, my state decided to administer testing to determine public school funding. and it was literally hell on earth.
standardized testing is horrible, because its a horrible test of a person's intelligence in general. i have friends who are geniuses but struggle to complete standardized tests because the way the questions are phrased is quite stupid.
but these? were by far the worst.
we had to sit in classrooms in neat rows for hours on end, bubbling in the stupid test booklet bubbles, reading through all the questions. we had to write our name on any scrap paper we used, our test booklets, and we had to turn it all in.
a lot of the kids were constantly stressed out because in addition to all this state testing we're getting closer to finals and missing class to finish the test was a loose-loose situation: if you rushed the test your test scores were lower and that can affect your school's funding, or you could miss classes that were covering the topics in the finals that are coming up.
oh my god, im so tired.
